This is an EP that Ciarán, Lugosi and I recorded a few weeks ago. It was a college project and I hadn’t really thought about posting it anywhere until I saw that song blowing up on Zach’s Tumblr.

I spent most of March and April writing these songs with Ciarán in his bedroom. It was a pretty hard process, given that we were under pressure because of college and the fact that it doesn’t really sound like anything I’ve done before. I wrote and played a lot of the basic guitar myself but all of the cool stuff was done by Ciarán.

To be honest, I’d never listened to it properly before I decided to post it here. The whole thing reminds me of a time when I was stressed about getting the EP done and pretty down about things in general. I don’t know if that really shows in the songs since most of them sound upbeat to me now but at the time it seemed like a good reflection of how I was feeling.

Listening to it, I actually think it turned out fairly decent. Ciarán did an amazing job with the recording and he did some really cool things with the songs. Sean’s drums are class as well, especially considering we never actually practised together and he only had a few days to write his parts. I think we’re going to get a good mark in college for it as well. Laura and Jack did a music video to go with it as part of the project but I don’t think that’s on the internet. It’s really cool though so hopefully it’ll be up at some stage.
